Indian Docs Healing Wounds Of History

21 months old, Khadija of Pakistan is getting treatment from Indian doctors at Appolo Hospital Hydrabaad. This is the success story of doctors fraternity who are often criticised for being money minded. This is not the only example, there are many in sub-continent who prefers medical services of India over costly treatments of U.S. and Europe.
Pakistani girl Khadija was a born deaf but now she can listen to the voices of her parents. Doctors at Appolo Hyderabad have proved that only sports, cinema, music cannot strengthen the bond of trust and love between the two rivalry nations, but hospitality industry can do a lot too. The cochlear implant surgery done on Khadija was free of cost. Khadijas parents, Adnan Adeel and Sahar Bano bear only travelling expenses. This operation which can cost around Rupees 12 lacks is sponsored by Society to Aid the Hearing Impaired (SAHI) and Confederation of Voluntary Association (COVA). There are many Khadijas who are getting treatment in India. According to a report the Indian High Commission in Islamabad have issued as many as 1992 medical visa from 2008-2010. Most of the Pakistani patients visit India to get medical care for the problems of liver, heart and kidney.  Familiar customs and language make the visitors comfortable. Moreover, Indians have a special emotional bonding for the peoples of neighbourhood nation. A history has been created on February 2012, when the doctors of two nations have done a complex liver transplant in Lahore.
Human relations cannot be undermined in any worst case scenario of rivalry and under political bans. India and Pakistan always see at each other with red gazing eyes of anger. Let it be cricket match, singing competitions or political commentary, everything seems to be on edge. After fighting four wars and holding disputes on many issues there is some space between the two nations which is filled love, trust and hospitality. Indian doctors have started what political leadership have failed to do for both the nations. In past few years despite of political stiffness in dialogues Pakistanis have preferred India for getting critical medical services and treatments. Wounds of past is being healed by the doctors.

Undefeated Champion

A manly voice with Punjabi tone which hits straight to the ear drums and within fraction of seconds your mind will project the image of Grand old superman Dara Singh. Whenever somebody will ever try to create the picture of god Hanuman, most of the times he will end at the image of Dara Singh. The Indian superman, rustom-e-hind and onscreen hanuman Dara Singh is no more. He left the legacy of humanity with us.
He was last seen on silver screen in 2007 in the movie Jab We Met, playing the role Kareena Kapoors Grandfather. He played various roles in his career as an actor. Bollywood film crazy will always remember dialogue “Mard ko Dard Nahi Hota”from the movie “Mard”. This is not just a dialogue which gets huge applause whenever enchanted but the philosophy of Dara Singh’s life. Dara Singh is a wrestler turned actor who had won 500 professional fights and ended wrestling career unbeaten. His real name was Deedar Singh Randhawa. In 1947 he was crowned as the champion of Malaysia. In 1983 he fought his final fight in New Delhi where he announced his retirement. He brought immense glory and proud to the nation because of his achievements. He was also considered as the first action hero of the B-town. He started his bollywood career in 1952 with the movie “Sangdil”. Because of his huge physique he was a natural action hero and faintly romantic. He successfully paired with dazzling diva of that era, Mumtaz and delivered 16 box office hits. He acted in 121 hindi movies and 21 punjabi movies. He also worked in 6 television series.  In 1980,s the infancy era of television, he epitomized the character of the hanuman in television Ramayana. Afterwards, in remake of Ramayana producers failed to find an artist to play role of Hanuman better then Dara Singh. Ramayana is an epic series in the history of television and role played by Dara as hanuman is immortal.
He was inspirational and enigmatic in his own way. Living healthy not only physically but socially is very important for celebrity. Dara Singh is one of the celebrities who started in pink of his health and prestige and passed away leaving a legacy of wealth of health. As the commercial played by him says “Sunday Ho Ya Monday Roj Khao Andey” (Let it be Sunday or Monday eat eggs everyday). Well, having eggs in diet is healthy but having the philosophy of Dara in mind is healthy too. In Indian mythology Hanuman and Bhima are the two characters who are synonymous with manliness and power, and in Indian filmology Dara Singh.

Dada, Didi and The Big Bong State

In recent time the state which is in news for all good and bad reasons is West Bengal. The state of Robinder Shongeet, Rosogulla, Misti Dohi, Football, Literature Treasure , Artistic Cinema and off- course the aggressive politics. It all began with the defeat of the Communist(Marxist) and emerge of Didi. Yes the angry lady, Mamata Banerjee. In last one year what ever happened in the centre politics Didi have some contribution in that. But when it comes to centre, the big congress think tank from the state of Howrah Bridge only, Dada, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee is a man of trust.
Dada and Didi are completely contrasting in their approach and role. Dada is calm and cool while Didi is ultra aggressive and outspoken. Dada is the one who always acts as a saviour for the sinking ship of UPA while Didi boarded on the same ship gives it tremors regularly. Earlier in 2012, during declaration of rail budget irrespective of what people and government at the centre wanted Mamata Didi did what she wanted. Revolutionary rail budget, as termed by the media structured by the former railway minister Dinesh Trivedi proposed fair hike to improve the financial health and quality of services. Prime minister Manmohan Singh, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and with all eminent congressmen Finance minister Pranab Mukherjee appreciated Dinesh Trivedi for his courage. But Dinesh Trivedi not only had to step down from his post but for the first time in India the rail budget rolled back. All this happened in just one night. Very soon new rail minister Mukul Roy got in the office and declared new budget with no burden on Aam Admi. This is what Didi wanted. She never preferred the fair hike by her own partyman Dinesh Trivedi. From the rollback of budget to new railway minister, everything happened under the political will and tremendous pressure of Mamta Didi. She is among those politicians who hits hard and never steps down. Compromise is a trait which can’t be linked to Didi. On the other hand, Pranab Dada is a holy cow of congress. Whatever he does becomes exemplary and model code of conduct. He is a smart negotiator and even praised by political rivals for his modesty. During dispute between Pranab Mukharjee and P Chidambaram over a leaked letter, which could have gone bad but the issue sorted out inside a room, both held a joint conference and declared the story is over. The smart Pranabda knows how to handle the pressure and remain in news for all the good reasons. This is what makes him a strong candidate for upcoming president election. Congress has officially declared him as a party candidate to contest presidential election. Prime Minister Manmohan singh will himself try to gather consensus over Pranabda’s name. Manmohan Singh’s PR skills will be tested when he tries to get Mamata didi’s support for Pranabda, which is very difficult but anything can happen in politics.
Well, in all these political tussle and mussel west Bengal have many moments to proud about. Just like in May 2012, when the Kolkata Night Riders owned by bollywood king Shah Rukh Khan, won the IPL-5. May be the big bong state get another reason to proud about if the son from the Bengal soil becomes the next president of India.

What so fussy about SMJ!

The actor turned crusader Amir Khan is touching the pain full points of Indian governance and system. Some are happy and many are unhappy with this little ray of awakening. Is Satyamev Jayte is another program to talk about malfunctioning of the great, lazy and failed Indian system! People caught in the act are blaming the ace actor for being money and publicity starved. Leaving all the controversies far behind people for whom Satyamev Jayte is conceptualized is liking the show tremendously.
Every episode of Satyamev Jayte is raising an issue with a fresh approach. Emotional talk on the show with those who have suffered is hitting the audience right on their heart. Amir as an anchor sheds tear of sympathy with victim and with Amir Millions of people across the India couldn’t control themselves from crying. Amir literally connects emotionally to the audience with the show content. Amir is enigmatic in his own way, he don’t have the have an imposing and impressive persona like Amitabh Bachchan, charming and witty style like Shah Rukh Khan and heart winning attraction like Salman khan as an anchor. While the other stalwarts of B-town came to small screen for entertainment only, but Amir came with a difference, with a social cause. For perfectionist khan this might be another challenge but for the people of India it is not less than a hope of change.
The question of the hour is that what Amir is doing must have done by the Indian media. Indian media is very powerful and very influential. Over the years sensational news became the taste of the news. Crime, sex, politics and celeb controversies are the perfect recipe to raise the TRP. The issues of social concern gradually buried deep. Problem does persist but hardly gets converted into news. Forget the prime time anchors discussing about some serious issue, even on the weekends there are no shows dedicated to social issues. On small screen time is fixed for different formats of show. But there was no time to talk about the issues which are more concerning, more appealing but less TRP boosting. Satyamev Jayte is exemplary for the Indian media, because it succeeded in collecting good ratings for the channel by raising known social issues. This enlightment should have initialised by the Indian media. Nevertheless, it is not late yet. Like Amir did, many stars would be waiting to pursue the same path to connect with people at ground zero. Satyamev jayte is purely Indian show by an Indian for the Indians. Let’s make the show a movement for social revolution.

Pharmaceutical economics of voters

The mother of all discount seasons is ahead. UP election will be the market where voter will give their vote and buy the Government. There are many political limited companies who are offering a wide range of promises. Some are offering minority reservation and some are giving the old wine of divide and rule. There are also some big and small joint ventures, which are tabling the failed promises such as peace and communal harmony. Although, the discount season is big and sellers are limited in number and buyer voter is bifurcated in cast, religion and status, the demand and supply rules seems to be failing. The promises marketed and tabled are failing to excite people. The problem is not with the marketing. The political limited companies are using various strategies to attract and divert the vote currency in their account. Even the free world of socialization and media is also hired and effectively employed in the marketing process.
But U.P. voter is searching for a tonic which can boost the ailing industrialization in the state. Demand for poverty polio elevation vaccine is also very high but the R&D department of all political limited companies have no answer to this. However, law and order maintenance cosmetic promises are available but they are of cheap quality. Basic necessity (road, electricity, school, medicine) energizers are provided from many years but they have produced mixed response and most of them are negative and useless. Very soon some exported medicine for corruption virus will be available in UP discount season 2012. This medicine is popularly known as Lokpal tablets in political world. These tablets have not produced any results in the democratic laboratory also known as the parliament. Modern manufacturers of Lokpal tablets will also showcase and test their promise against their unlike competitors.
The promise which a voter is searching may not be easily available again but can force the political limited companies to manufacture what they need. The best option for voter here will to not to buy any of the promises which are unessential. The expected failure of the U.P. Discount season 2012 may force all the political limited companies to make ethical promise and deliver within the time limit.

Players of big game

Upcoming UP election will decide the fortune of many political stalwarts. Madam Maya, Congress Prince Rahul,  Majestic Mulayam and Irrepressible Rajnath will have to go through an acid test. In the most decisive election of all time-the UP assembly election 2012 will impact the government at the centre and the policy making machinery. Every win and lose will have a meaning. Let’s try to understand the probabilities of coming big series.
Another thumping majority for Madam Maya will be historical indeed which is unlike to happen if experts are trusted. But underestimating the Mayawati’s win will be stupidity. Irrespective of the controversies and political pressure, Mayawati did not sacrificed her dream projects like Yamuna Express way and launch of J.P.s F1 international race circuit. Defying the shouts and criticism from the lobby of media, opposition and civil society, Mayawati completed monumental parks and passed the Bill of state division in one go. Mayawati dominated the five year term in her own style. If UP is tested on the platforms of number and statistics it is not far behind the Maharastra. But on the development meters BSP’s development stands taller than the Utter Pradesh. Maya have gone well till now but the state is under an expected administrative fiasco. There is no improvement in migration from the state for employment and no significant decline in the poverty. Maya blamed centre and centre blamed the state, but in this blame game people of U.P loosed, neither the UPA nor the BSP. There are many projects which are in the files only. In February 2012, dominance of Maya will have bow down to the power of ballet.
The congress prince Rahul Gandhi is searching for the lost ground and hitting the headlines as the leader of poor and destitute. Not the political affinity but Rahul’s inherited charisma is helping him to get the people attention and media coverage. Rallies, road shows and every public appearance have been motivational for the grand old party-congress and the 41 year old young Rahul himself. Having the Dalit dinner in the hut or attending a panchayat is well exaggerated in a certain section of media. These stunts have paid good returns during the legislative elections but the same have been a failure in Bihar elections. Bihar can be termed as the advanced version of UP. Victory in UP elections for congress will not only improve its numbers but also give an edge in UPA against the threatening and troublesome ally like Mamta Banerjee lead Trinamul congress and corruption clouded DMK. Moreover, Congress victory will make Rahul in presenting strong contendership as the future prime minister.
No one can understand the politics of Utter Pradesh like the Mulayam Singh who have been elected as the chief minister of the state thrice. According to a political opinion Mulayam Singh have more chances of becoming chief minister again by winning alone or by support of congress. Caste based politics is been the winning formula for Mulayam. Influential, Muslim voters have preferred Mulayam lead party more then others. Samajwadi party have done complete overhauling after losing to BSP in last elections. Akhilesh, son of Mulayam have also done hard work akin to Rahul Gandhi but haven’t got the success like later. Presence of young brigade in S.P in command of Akhilesh have kept the future of party unspeculated like that of BJP and BSP which are lacking second generation leadership.
BJP can be better termed as the most experienced opposition in the federal structure of India after independence. Utter Pradesh is been the main political ground for BJP. After demolition of Babri Masjid BJP became an aggressive pioneer of Hidutva ideology. Since then it gained a lot and loosed a lot on the thorn full path of Hindutva politics. The state from where it has emerged is finding difficult to get into the heart of people. Moreover, lacking one face dominance in leadership in Utter Pradesh is been a huge problem for the party. UP election can be a big turnaround for BJP if the magic of hardspoken Varun Gandhi, and experienced Uma Bharti and Rajnath Singh worked in tendom. BJP will also employ the support of Nitish Kumar and Narendra Modi to cast some spell on voters to vote in their favour. BJP will contest upcoming elections with full force and will try to snatch the victory from the rivals. Anna’s anguish will only help BJP, reduce the votes for congress who failed to deliver strong lokpal and samjwadi party who opposed lokpal.
But the most decisive will be the voter and his preference for voting. For taking Utter Pradesh on the path of development voter have to be aware of his ballot power. Choosing the right candidate will be the key for the fate of peoples of Utter Pradesh and the state. Development is issue which is overshadowed by the issues of cast, religion and reservation. Voters have to bank on the development issue only and not allowing politicians to play vote bank politics.
